Apart from being a thriller, the story, Deja Vu, written in the first-person point of view, is also a mystery. It follows the story of an unnamed protagonist, a student who, in his bid to avoid the frustration encountered at the queues in the banks in his school, decides to read in the school library. This is also his ploy to kill time.
He immerses himself in a book where a young boy loses his money to a rogue through an act of magnanimity. It is uncanny that he finds himself in the same situation for, while he is reading, he absentmindedly lends his book to a strange student. His school fees are tucked away between two of the pages of the book. When it is time to leave the library, the student is nowhere to be found.
